BOTOX

Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A)

Botox is a brand name for botulinum toxin type A, a purified neurotoxin derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. In aesthetic and medical applications, Botox is used in carefully controlled doses to temporarily relax targeted muscles, helping to improve both functional conditions and facial appearance.

Botox is widely used for various indications, including:

Facial wrinkles: to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles such as crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead lines.

Hyperhidrosis: to treat excessive sweating in areas such as the underarms, palms, and soles.

Jawline slimming and facial contouring: by reducing masseter muscle activity, Botox can help create a slimmer jawline and a more refined facial shape, while injections in the platysma muscle may improve neck contour and lifting effects.

Neck spasms (cervical dystonia): to relieve involuntary muscle contractions in the neck.

Chronic migraine: as a preventive treatment for chronic migraine headaches.

Botox works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction. By reducing nerve signals to the muscles, Botox induces temporary muscle relaxation. The effects typically last for several months, and maintenance treatments are recommended to sustain optimal results.
