Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to restore volume, enhance facial contours, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Fillers are formulated from various materials, including hyaluronic acid (HA), collagen, calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA), poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).
Hyaluronic acid fillers are the most commonly used type of dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps maintain hydration and elasticity. HA fillers are temporary and typically last between 6 and 18 months, depending on the product and treatment area.
Dermal fillers can be used to address a wide range of aesthetic concerns, including:
• Wrinkles and folds: such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
• Lips: to enhance volume, shape, and definition.
• Cheeks: to restore lost volume and create a more youthful facial contour.
• Chin and jawline: to improve facial proportions, balance, and profile.
• Under-eye hollows (tear trough): to reduce the appearance of dark circles and tired-looking eyes.
